In Upper Eyelid in Thailand, the surgeon first marks the individual lines and creases of the lids in order to keep the scars as invisible as possible along these natural folds. The incision is made, and excess fat is removed or repositioned, and then the loose muscle and skin are removed. Fine sutures are used to close the incisions, thereby minimizing the visibility of any scar.
If you’re having the procedure done using a local anesthetic, your surgeon may ask you to open and close your eyes at the end of the operation. This is to check that your eyelids are level on both eyes.
Your surgeon may apply ointment to your eye to stop it from drying out or to reduce the risk of infection. Small strips of sterile tape (steri-strips) may also be used to support your eyelids and hold the ends of the stitches in place.
How is Upper Eyelid performed?
An entire upper eyelid surgery can be completed in approximately 45 minutes to one hour. Upper eyelid surgery is usually performed as an outpatient procedure. Typically, a local anesthesia is combined with conscious sedation (also known as “twilight sleep”).
What result can I expect?
The final results of your eyelid surgery will appear within several weeks. While eyelid surgery will not stop your eyes from aging, the procedure is typically very long lasting. The effects of upper eyelid surgery can last many years to an entire lifetime.
How is aftercare for surgery?
After your eyelid surgery, lubricating ointment and cold compresses may be applied, in addition to your eyes being loosely covered with gauze.
How is Upper Eyelid in Thailand recovery?
You must practice diligent sun protection and use darkly tinted sunglasses until the healing process is fully complete.
What are risks involved with a Upper Eyelid surgery?
Initial healing may include some swelling, bruising, irritation or dry eyes, and discomfort that can be controlled with medication, cold compresses, and ointment. Irritation at the incision sites is also possible.
What do I need to do to prepare for Upper Eyelid surgery?
• Be certain to plan for someone to drive you home after surgery and stay with you at least the first night following surgery.

• Avoiding taking aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs and herbal supplements due to the risk of increased bleeding.
