Nose Augmentation in Bangkok, Thailand
What is Nose Augmentation?
A Nose Augmentation in Thailand (technically called a rhinoplasty) is surgery on the nose to change its shape or improve its function. It can be done for medical reasons such as to correct breathing problems related to the nose or correct disfigurement resulting from trauma or birth defects. It can also be done for cosmetic reasons, which will change the nose’s shape and appearance.
What result can I expect?
The results of Nose Augmentation in Thailand are permanent, so it is important that you have clear aesthetic goals when this procedure is planned. Nose augmentation should only be performed on a nose that has finished growing; complete development has usually occurred by age sixteen or seventeen. If nose augmentation is performed before development is complete, continued growth can change the outcome of your surgery and cause potential problems and complications.
How is the Nose Augmentation performed?
There are two general techniques for making the incisions: open and endonasal as describe below. You surgeon will make decision which techniques will be the best result for you; depend on size and shape of your nose.
• Open rhinoplasty
For an open rhinoplasty, the incisions are made outside the nose with a small access incision on the underside of the nose between the nostrils that then connects with other incisions hidden inside the nose. Advocates for the open rhinoplasty approach say that it fully opens the nose, providing better visualization of the nasal structures and a more direct route for surgical manipulation; the small scar at the base of the nose is barely visible once it heals.
• Endonasal rhinoplasty
For an endonasal rhinoplasty, the incisions are made inside the nasal passages. Because these incisions are hidden, they are invisible after surgery. Avocates for the endonasal approach say that it permits more limited dissection of nasal tissues, offers excellent visualization of nasal structures, and eliminates the visible scar at the base of the nose.
Nose augmentation takes approximately one and a half hour. This procedure is usually done as an outpatient procedure, you’ll get general or local anesthesia.
How is aftercare for Nose Augmentation?
After a nose augmentation patient usually wear a nasal splint for the first week. You should avoid strenuous activity for three to six weeks after surgery. You may return to your social activities as soon as within two to three weeks without any recognizable signs that you had a procedure done.
How is Nose Augmentation recovery?
You can expect swelling and some bruising around the eyes after surgery that will begin to improve after the third day. It can, though, last up to two weeks. Expect your nose to have a little swelling, which probably only you and your surgeon will notice. This will go away over the next six months. The final shape of your nose will be apparent after it has completely healed.
What do I need to do to prepare for Nose Augmentation surgery?
Your surgeon will discuss with you how to prepare such as;
• Stop smoking
• Avoid taking aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, and herbal supplements as they can increase bleeding.
What are the risks involved with a Nose Augmentation?
• It requires extensive alterations of nasal bone and cartilage, patients may experience pain or discomfort following the procedure
• The swelling is most noticeable in the days following surgery, but largely subsides after about two weeks.
