Breast Augmentation in Bangkok, Thailand
What is Breast Augmentation?
Augmentation mammoplasty, or breast augmentation is a surgical procedure to increase the size, shape or fullness of a woman’s breasts. The surgeon places silicone, saline or alternative composite breast implants under the chest muscles or breast tissue.
There are two types of Breast Augmentation in Thailand: saline and silicone.
• Saline-filled implants are silicone shells filled with sterile salt water (saline).
• Silicone-filled implants are silicone shells filled with a plastic gel (silicone).
Although many women say that silicone implants feel more like real breasts than saline, they pose more of a risk if they leak.
How is the procedure performed?
The most common Breast Augmentation in Thailand is the Inframammary technique, which inserts the implant in the fold where the breast meets the chest wall, leaving no visible scars. There is less impact to milk production with this augmentation technique because neither the glandular tissue nor innervations is affected. However, if the implant is placed on top of your pectoral muscle, it can exert pressure on the ducts and glands, which may reduce milk production functionality. The procedure takes approximately one hour to perform and done under general anesthesia, during which you will be “asleep” and pain-free. After surgery you might need to stay overnight in hospital.

What result can I expect?
Under normal circumstances, the results of your breast augmentation surgery will be long-lasting; however, it’s important to know that breast implants need to be replaced if they leak. Routine follow-up with your surgeon is important. You may choose to undergo a breast lift or implant exchange to restore a more youthful contour.
